We are thrilled to announce that Home for Good Dog Rescue and the heartwarming story of Louie and Junior has been recognized as a 2024 Petco Love Stories Finalist, awarding us a $10,000 grant! 
This year, Petco Love Stories celebrated the incredible bond between pets and their families by selecting 25 winning stories from across the nation, totaling $500,000 in grant awards. These stories, including the remarkable journey of Louie and Junior, underscore the life-changing impact of pet adoption and the mission to save more animal lives.
Junior and Louie’s Story:Amid the challenges of the Covid crisis and personal loss, the addition of Louie, a spirited Chiweenie rescued from a field in Georgia, to Josephine and Junior’s family brought light into their lives. Louie not only brought joy and comfort as they navigated through tough times but also played a pivotal role in detecting a health issue that would lead to a cancer diagnosis. Their story is a testament to the profound, intuitive connection between pets and their people, highlighting how rescue dogs like Louie can truly save lives in more ways than one.
