Home for Good Dog Rescue is hosting a “Clear the Shelters Adopt-a-thon” on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Berkeley Heights, NJ, in honor of National Clear the Shelters Day — a nationwide effort to help shelter and rescue dogs find their forever homes. This is your chance to meet incredible dogs who are ready and waiting for you.
Join us on August 15th in Berkeley Heights, NJ, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You can meet adoptable dogs, spend time getting to know them, and learn more about our rescue. Meanwhile, our team will be on-site to guide you through the process. We’ll answer your questions and help you find the right fit for your home and lifestyle. Whether you’re ready to adopt or simply exploring your options, we would love to see you there.

How to Prepare for On-Site Dog Adoption
- Submit an Adoption Application. Complete the online adoption application on our website before you attend, so you’re ready to move forward.
- Get Pre-Approved. You must have a provisional pre-approval to adopt at the event, so we strongly recommend applying early to avoid delays.
- Bring the Whole Family. All household members must attend, including any resident dogs. This step helps us ensure the best possible match.
