We Rescued 11 Dogs. Now We Are Fighting to Keep Them Alive.

Home for Good Dog Rescue is urgently fighting to save 11 dogs rescued from unimaginable conditions — every single one diagnosed with heartworm and every one depending on our community to survive.

Some rescues stay with you. This one will stay with us forever.

What Our Team Found

Last week our team responded to a rescue call.

What they found when they walked through that door is something that is genuinely difficult to put into words. Our staff have been doing this work for years. They have seen things that would break most people. They walked through that home with a camera because they believed the world needed to see it — because these eleven dogs deserved to have their story told.

We are going to let the images speak for themselves.

What we will tell you is this. Eleven dogs were living there. In those conditions. Some for years. One for nearly over a decade.

When our team finally reached them some were hiding. Some had never known anything different. All eleven were alive.

We brought every single one home.

Then Came the News

Within days of arriving at our Almost Home Wellness Center in Aiken, South Carolina every single one of our eleven new rescues was tested.

The results stopped our team cold.

All eleven tested positive for heartworm disease.

It was not a surprise. The conditions they had been living in made it almost inevitable. Heartworm spreads through mosquito bites. Without protection, without veterinary care, without anyone watching out for them — eleven dogs living the way these eleven were living were always going to be fighting this disease.

What matters now is that heartworm is treatable. Completely and fully treatable. With the right protocol, the right care, and the right resources a heartworm positive dog recovers completely. We have watched it happen dozens of times at Home for Good Dog Rescue. Dogs who arrived fighting for their lives went on to find families, find sofas, find the kind of life they always deserved.

But treating eleven dogs at the same time is something we have never faced before. The protocol is months long. The veterinary care is constant. And the cost is significant — far beyond what our organization can absorb alone while continuing to care for every other dog in our program.

These are dogs worth fighting to keep them alive. We have never wavered on that. We are not wavering now.

This Is Where You Come In

We have never asked our community for anything quite like this. We are fighting to keep them alive. All eleven. But we cannot do it alone.

If you have ever wanted to do something that matters — this is that moment. Give $11. One dollar for every dog we are fighting for. Every dollar goes directly to their care. No overhead. No administration. Straight to the dogs who need it most.

DONATE $11 — $1 FOR EACH DOG WE RESCUED

They survived the worst. Now they need us to fight for the rest.

Every one of these eleven dogs has a name. Every one has a personality that somehow survived conditions that should have broken them. We will introduce you to each of them individually in the weeks ahead — their stories, their progress, and eventually their homecoming. Follow along. You will want to be here for all of it.
